Spelthorne Borough Councillor for the  Ashford Town Ward

Naz Islam, a local Ashford family man with 4 children. Naz moved into Spelthorne in1996 soon after leaving college. First lived in Sunbury on Thames then in Stanwell now living in Ashford, became a local business man and opened a catering establishment in Stanwell Moor, he soon became well known within the local community. With the success of his business in Stanwell Moor he was able to expand his business and open the very popular Kouchin restaurant in Ashford.

As a life long Conservative, Naz joined the party at the age of 17 and has been actively involved ever since. His passion for active involvement led Naz to stand for conservatives in May 2015, resulting in becoming the borough councillor for Ashford Town Ward.

Naz is a strong opponent of fire station closures. He is seeking to gain good economic development of Ashford, where Ashford thrives through proportional development and believes in fighting for quality and affordable housing.

As a family man he cares with a passion for local community issues such as expansion of schools to support places for future generations, believes in a further GP surgery to support the loss of Thames doc, is anti green belt development, and support transport issues such as Zone 6, oppose bus Service cuts, along with creation of local job opportunities

Always ready for the challenge, and caring for the UK’s future, he campaigned throughout the Brexit campaign. Taking time to listen and discuss both local and national issues

Mary Lewis, Cabinet Member for Education

Mary was elected as Surrey  County Councillor for Cobham in May 2013. Prior to that she was a school teacher in the Cobham area and her interest in young people and education informs her work as the Surrey County Council Cabinet Associate for Children, Schools and Families.
